The deadline to submit an abstract was June 1, 2023.
Notification of acceptance will be sent the week of July 17, 2023.
The Program Committee will thoroughly review each abstract. All presenting authors must register for the Annual Meeting (full meeting registration is required; there are no exceptions) and display their printed poster in the Exhibit Hall during the Annual Meeting. Registration must be completed by August 1, 2023.
The Poster Session is on Monday, November 13, from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm (EST). Attendance at the Poster Session on November 13 is required. If the presenter fails to display their poster, the abstract submission will not appear in International Journal of Toxicology, the scientific journal of ACT. Presenting authors may present only one poster at the Annual Meeting, but there is no limit to the number of posters that someone may co-author. Priority of acceptance will be given to original research. Previously published abstracts, virtually or otherwise, will not be published in International Journal of Toxicology. ACT does not accept encore poster abstracts (i.e., a poster presented at any previous meetings).
There will be an additional option for you to provide a digital version of your poster in an online ePoster gallery. Uploading your poster is strongly recommended to extend the reach of your scientific findings. In-person meeting attendance and presentation at the Poster Session is required even if the presenter opts to provide an ePoster. More details on ePosters will be provided in September.
The Poster Session will feature posters on a variety of topics, including general toxicology, regulatory toxicology, safety evaluation nonpharmaceuticals, toxicology methods, and safety evaluation pharmaceuticals. The Poster Session offers engagement between authors, exhibitors, and attendees, while showcasing some of the latest and most innovative work in the field. ACT award recipients’ posters will also be featured—be sure to look for these merited posters in the Exhibit Hall.
Posters should represent only scientific material and should not contain any marketing of a company, service, or product. The presenter may not engage in product detailing and may not direct participants to a particular exhibit, meeting, or other company-sponsored entity, website, activity, program, etc. All handout material must be limited to a one-page photocopy of the poster or abstract. ACT reserves the right to remove any material deemed outside the guidelines and does not accept responsibility for the loss of this property.
Posters will be removed if a poster contains material violating the guidelines expressed.
Award Abstract submission deadline was May 1, 2023.
Award notifications are sent by July 7, 2023.
Those interested in being considered for the North American Travel Grant, International Travel Grant, or North American Graduate Fellowship may submit their abstract online using the Abstract Submission System. Applicants should indicate their desire to be considered for the ACT North American Travel Grant, the International Travel Grant, or the North American Graduate Fellowship in the online Abstract System.
Graduate students who are awarded a North American Travel Grant or an International Travel Grant will be considered for the Furst Award. This award is given to the author of the Best Student Poster at the Annual Meeting. It consists of a $2,000 cash prize and a plaque. Graduate students applying for the Furst Award must present their poster to the Awards Committee during the Student Award Poster Judging Session on Sunday, November 12. The winner will be acknowledged during the Awards Ceremony. Postdocs, early career professionals, toxicologists, and fellowship awardees do not qualify for the Furst Award.
