The value of face-to-face interaction will never go away, but in these unprecedented times ACT committees, volunteers, Council, and staff have been working on providing attendees a unique multiday experience filled with networking opportunities, educational courses, and on-demand access to session content and vendor product content in an effort to make this year’s virtual meeting a highlight of the year.

Frequently Asked Questions

The virtual meeting will be held over the span of November 12–19, 2020. The meeting will be held over six days with access to on-demand content, two plenary sessions, live sessions, and a virtual exhibition hall and posters. The online agenda will be updated on the website, as soon as possible. All events will be presented in Eastern Standard Time.

If you booked a hotel room within the ACT hotel block you should have already received an email with your cancelation information. If you have not received an email or booked outside of the hotel block, you will need to contact the hotel directly. (ACT HQ contact Maureen Bayley)

There’s no need to download any software, the ACT Virtual Annual Meeting is HTML based and fully accessible via your web browser (IE is not recommended) on any laptop, desktop, tablet, or smartphone. Internet will be needed to view the scientific sessions, participate in live Q&A, and attend social and networking events. Social events will be run through the Zoom platform, so please be sure to test Zoom prior to the ACT Virtual Annual Meeting to ensure you are ready before the start of the event. Some social events will suggest/require the sharing of your webcam to participate.

We know you were excited to experience all that Austin has to offer and just because are not meeting in Austin, doesn’t mean we are unable to experience Austin. ACT will be taking this opportunity to bring the sights and sounds directly to you through an array of themed breaks and special event activities that showcase quintessential Austin. Times and details will be made available on the Program Overview and Special Events Virtual Annual Meeting webpages, as they become available.

Scientific content (with the exception of CE course 3, which will be live only) will be made available through a password-restricted site until December 31, 2020.

Yes! Plenary, CE, Symposia and Workshops will all feature live Q&A sessions following the presentations.

This year there is no fee for the Welcome Reception. If you have already paid your Welcome Reception you have the option to receive a refund, apply your payment to your future membership dues, or donate the amount to the ACT Endowment. (ACT HQ contact is Allison Hansard))

Late-Breaking Abstracts (LBA) are open and will close on September 15. Notifications for LBA will be sent out the week of October 1. Requirements for presentation and full meeting registration remain the same as in years’ past. (ACT HQ contact is Jordan Ballance)

CE courses will be conducted live on November 11 and 12 and will be available for on-demand access until December 31 (please note that CE3 will be presented as a live CE only). The CE course listing and registration details are provided on the website. Yes. Scientific sessions that also contain handouts will be made available within the meeting platform until December 31, 2020.
