By registering for and participating in the Annual Meeting, each participant acknowledges that they have read the participation policies, Privacy Policy, and Code of Conduct, and expressly releases American College of Toxicology (ACT) and its officers, directors, employees, vendors, agents, speakers, and members from all liability in connection with the Annual Meeting as provided herein. You may view the Privacy Policy or opt in/out of email communications from ACT at any time.
Registration and attendance at, or participation in, ACT meetings and other activities constitutes an agreement by the registrant to the use and distribution (both now and in the future) of the registrant’s or attendee’s image or voice in recordings, both live and on-demand, photographs, videotapes, electronic reproductions, and audiotapes of such events and activities by ACT and other third parties. Your registration may include technology that monitors your activities throughout the meeting, such as session attendance and pages visited.
Attendance Liability
By participating in the Annual Meeting, you understand there is an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 or other communicable diseases regardless of any safety and sanitation procedures. Despite best efforts, the level of risk cannot be reduced to zero. You agree to waive your right to assert any claim or cause of action against ACT or its vendors should you contract an illness during your participation at the meeting.
Policy on External Financial Support
ACT reserves the right to refuse or restrict the use of external financial support from any organization whose goals, objectives, or past actions are inconsistent with the mission of the College, which is to educate, lead, and serve the global community. Furthermore, ACT is committed to high ethical standards and sound scientific principles and will not be influenced by financial contributions.
Photography
ACT meeting attendees are asked to strictly adhere to the photography policy while participating in sessions and special events. As a courtesy to our speakers, poster presenters, and exhibitors, ACT asks that participants refrain from electronic capture of all presented material unless given written permission from the proprietor. Any person not complying with the policy may be asked to leave the event. All registered attendees consent to pictures taken during the Annual Meeting for use on the ACT website or for marketing purposes.
Posters
Posters should represent only scientific material and should not contain any marketing of a company, service, or product. The presenter may not engage in product detailing or direct participants to a particular exhibit, meeting, or other company-sponsored entity, website, activity, program, etc. All handout material must be limited to a one-page PDF file of the poster or abstract. ACT reserves the right to remove any material deemed outside the guidelines and does not accept responsibility for the loss of this property.
A poster will be removed if it contains material violating the guidelines expressed.
Registration
Registration for the Annual Meeting is for individual access only. Registrations are nontransferable, and Annual Meeting badges may not be altered.
Annual Meeting registrants grant ACT permission to reproduce, copy, and publish photographs taken at the Annual Meeting unless written notification by the registrant stating otherwise is submitted in writing to ACT Headquarters before the meeting or while registering.
Sharing Contact Information
To facilitate ongoing efforts to encourage and enhance the networking opportunities for which ACT is known, exhibitors may request to scan your badge to collect your contact information. If you prefer to not share your contact information, you may decline to have your badge scanned.
Solicitation
Solicitation at the Annual Meeting and/or to ACT attendees and exhibitors by anyone other than approved exhibitors and vendors is strictly prohibited.
Wellness Activity/Special Event Liability Waiver
As is the case with any physical activity, the risk of injury, even serious disabling, is always present and cannot be entirely eliminated. Possible wellness activities provided by ACT are not a substitute for medical attention, examination, diagnosis, or treatment. Involvement in wellness activities may not be recommended under certain medical conditions. By participating, you affirm that you alone are responsible for deciding whether to engage in any wellness activity. You agree to irrevocably release and waive any claims that you have now or hereafter may have against ACT and any of its vendors in relation to the ACT Annual Meeting.
By participating in the ToxTrot, you understand that the 5K is a physical activity and certify that you are physically fit. You understand your physical limitations and are sufficiently self-aware to stop physical activity before you become ill or injured. You understand that by participating in this activity you are waiving your right to assert any claim or cause of action against ACT, the vendor, and its employees in exchange for taking part in the ToxTrot.
