Abstract Submission

Poster Guidelines pdf

The abstract submission system is now closed. The deadline to submit an abstract was July 1, 2016 (11:59 pm, Eastern Daylight Time). After the deadline the Program Committee thoroughly reviews each abstract. Notification of acceptance and poster session assignment will be sent the week of August 1. All presenting authors must register for the Annual Meeting (full meeting registration is required; there are no exceptions).

Poster Presentations

This year’s meeting will include two poster sessions (see Presenter Information under the Scientific Program section for days and times). Both poster sessions will feature a variety of topics (topics include: General Toxicology, Regulatory Toxicology, Safety Evaluation Nonpharmaceuticals, Toxicology Methods, and Safety Evaluation Pharmaceuticals). Come visit both poster sessions to engage with the authors and exhibitors while seeing some of the latest and innovative work in the field. ACT’s Award winner posters will feature a ribbon—be sure to look for these merited posters outside of the Exhibit Hall.

ePosters—New This Year!

ACT is pleased to provide poster presenters with the exciting opportunity to share their research electronically as well as during their assigned poster session. Poster presenters are encouraged to upload their ePosters prior to the start of their assigned Poster Session. The submission system will remain open throughout the meeting and on-site assistance will be available at the ACT Mobile App Help Desk, located in the registration area. ePoster submission is only available to authors who have already been accepted to present their poster at the 2016 Annual Meeting. All registered meeting attendees will have access to ePosters using the new ACT Mobile App, that can be downloaded. Learn how to download the app or use the mobile website version of the app.

View ePoster Submissions from the website. The ePosters also are viewable from the app from within the Poster Sessions tab, select the ePoster Upload filter (top right).

Student Travel Awards

Graduate students submitting abstracts can apply for a limited number of ACT Student Travel Awards in the amount of $1000. Recipients must present a poster at this meeting. Abstracts must be submitted online using the ACT Abstract Submission System. Be sure to select “Poster” as your form of presentation and select the button for “student award.”

Graduate students applying for a travel award will also be considered for the Furst Award and will have their meeting registration fee waived. This award, established through a generous contribution from the late Dr. Arthur Furst, is given to the author of the Best Student Poster at the Annual Meeting. It consists of a $2000 travel award and plaque. Graduate students applying for the Furst Award must present their poster to the Awards Committee on Sunday evening, 5:00 pm–6:30 pm, November 6, 2016.

The deadline for submitting an abstract to be considered for a student award is July 1. Please remember that all students must attend the meeting and present their poster to receive the travel award.

Student Travel Award Poster Presentations

Student Travel Award Poster set up will be on Sunday, November 6, 4:00 pm–4:45 pm in the Grand Ballroom. Judging will take place on Sunday from 5:00 pm–6:30 pm for the Furst Award. All students will present their research at this time to the Awards Committee. One student poster will be selected and awarded the Furst Award during Monday’s Awards Ceremony and Luncheon. All Student Travel Award winners should attend the awards ceremony.
