  • Golf Outing

    Golf Outing at the 38th Annual Meeting

    • Saturday, November 4
    • Tee Time: 12:30 PM
    • Transportation will depart for Tahquitz Creek, from the Palm Springs Convention Center, at 11:30 am. Return transportation to the Palm Springs Convention Center will depart from Tahquitz Creek at 5:30 pm.
    • Fee: $100 ACT Members; $120 Nonmembers
    • (Advance registration required.)

    Tahquitz Creek is one of the premier public golf courses in Palm Springs, California. The outing will play the Resort course, a well-known Ted Robinson design. It is a desert links style golf course that offers beautiful mountain views, along with scenic waterscapes, and undulated greens that are friendly, yet demanding.

    This is a great opportunity to build relationships in a relaxed atmosphere while enjoying the beautiful panoramic view of Palm Springs. This event is played in a fun format that accommodates all levels of golfers.

    The player fee includes transportation to and from the course, 18 holes of golf with a cart, practice range usage, a light reception, and participant door prizes.

    Attend the Early Career Professional Speed Networking event! Enjoy wine and cheese with your peers in the toxicology community. Early career professionals will then have an opportunity to talk with experienced leaders in toxicology about different career paths, challenges, and professional growth areas.

    Take a trip back in time in Hollywood’s desert playground and join ACT as we celebrate the opening night of our 38th Annual Meeting. This special event is a great opportunity to catch up with old friends and make some new ones. With a pinch of Old Hollywood glamour and a blast from the past appearance from the Rat Pack, you'll feel like a celebrity at the Oscars in no time! Whether you want to sit back and relax with friends or network with clients, this is the event for you.

    Listen to a keynote presentation by the Distinguished Scientist Award in Toxicology recipient, Dr. Linda Birnbaum, during this lunch, which is included as part of your Annual Meeting registration. Awards will be presented to the recipients of the ACT Service Award, Carol C. Lemire Unsung Hero Award, Early Career Professional Award, and the President's Award for Best Paper Published in International Journal of Toxicology. The ACT Furst Award for best student poster presentation will be announced as well as the Student Travel Award, North American Graduate Fellowship, and International Travel Grant recipients.

    This is the opportunity to discuss the latest research findings and methodology with poster presenters and visit with exhibitors. Don’t miss out on some of the most innovative work in the field. Two drink tickets and light fare will be offered and is included in the Annual Meeting registration fee.

    Early career professionals, it’s time to show your flair! Team up with friends and colleagues and learn the tricks used by master bartenders. You’re a guaranteed hit at your next get-together, showcasing your new skills in bartending flair. This is an interactive event. Light fare will be provided.

  • Annual ToxTrot

    ACT’s 4th Annual ToxTrot

    • Tuesday, November 7
    • 6:30 AM–7:30 AM
    • (Free event. Advance registration required. If you have already registered for the meeting and would like to add this event, please contact ACT Headquarters.)

    Start your morning off breathing in the fresh desert air while joining members from ACT’s Council as they walk, trot, and run through the 5K course with clear, blue, mountainous skies as your backdrop. Palm Springs features a variety of flora and fauna, including the California Fan Palm, for you to admire during the Trot and averages 300+ days of sunshine each year. This is a great opportunity to meet and network with fellow ACT members and attendees, all while burning a few calories and enjoying the beautiful surroundings of Palm Springs.

    There is no fee for this event, advance registration required. Following the event, complimentary T-shirts will be offered to those participants who register for the event before September 29, 2017.
