Abstract Submission

Submission Instructions/Guidelines and Poster Instructions Submission Instructions (Abstract Submission is Now Closed)

The deadline for Abstract submission was August 1, 2014 (11:59 pm, Eastern Time). After the deadline the Program Committee thoroughly reviews each abstract. Notification of acceptance is approximately three weeks from the submission deadline.

Poster Presentations

Posters will be in place as early as Sunday afternoon (set up hours are 1:30 pm–4:30 pm) and will be displayed from Monday through Tuesday at 4:30 pm in the Grand Cypress Ballroom. Designated authors (indicated in the Program poster description by an underline) will present their poster during the Poster Reception on Monday, November 10, from 5:30 pm–7:00 pm. Please join this session to engage with the authors and see some of the latest work in the field.

Student Travel Awards

Graduate students submitting abstracts can apply for a limited number of ACT Student Travel Awards in the amount of $1,000. Recipients must present a poster at this meeting. Abstracts may be submitted online using the ACT Abstract Submission System. Be sure to select “Poster” as your form of presentation and select the button for “student award.”

Graduate students applying for a travel award will also be considered for the Furst Award. This award, established through a generous contribution from the late Dr. Arthur Furst, is given to the author of the Best Student Paper at the Annual Meeting. It consists of a $2000 travel award and plaque. Graduate students applying for the Furst Award must present their poster to the Committee on Sunday evening, 4:00 pm–4:30 pm, November 9, 2014.

The deadline for submitting an abstract to be considered for a student award is August 1, 2014. Please remember that all students must attend the meeting and present their poster to receive the travel award.

Student Travel Award Poster Presentations

Student Travel Award Poster set up will be on Sunday, November 9, 4:00 pm–4:30 pm in the Grand Cypress Ballroom, located at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress, Orlando, Florida. Upon entering the Ballroom students should look for signage directing them to the poster boards used for presenting and judging. Judging will take place on Sunday from 4:30 pm–6:30 pm for the Furst Award. All students will present their research at this time to the Awards Committee. One student poster will be selected and awarded the Furst Award during Monday’s Awards Ceremony and Luncheon. All Student Travel Award winners should attend this awards ceremony.
