ACT Awards Application

The American College of Toxicology recognizes outstanding toxicologists during the Awards Ceremony and Luncheon held during the ACT Annual Meeting. Recipients of these awards will not be considered for the ACT Student Travel Award or the ACT Student Furst Award. All selected Grant and Fellowship winners will be asked to submit an abstract (250 words) in the online Abstract System for the Annual Meeting (between June 1 and August 1).

Review Process

The Resource Committee consists of seven to nine members. The Committee will weigh all criteria for the award equally. Notification of the Committee decision will be sent by July 1.

North American Graduate Fellowships

North American Graduate Fellowships

Application deadline is June 1.

The American College of Toxicology is offering up to three fellowships to graduate students in approved toxicology programs in North America. Recipients will receive waived meeting registration, airfare to and from the meeting, meals per diem, one free CE course, and up to four nights of hotel accommodations.

To apply for a fellowship, while currently in a PhD program (2-year award) or in final year of a terminal master’s program (1-year award), please submit:

  1. a letter of recommendation (which also certifies academic standing) from the affiliated institution;
  2. curriculum vitae;
  3. an essay explaining career aspirations (up to 500 words);
  4. submit an abstract online using the Annual Meeting abstract system and present a poster at the Annual Meeting summarizing the graduate project in the field of toxicology; and
  5. apply for ACT Student membership (Student membership is free, and it is not a requirement to be an ACT member at the time of application)

International Travel Grant

Application deadline is June 1.

The American College of Toxicology is offering up to five travel grants that will be awarded to graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, early career professionals, and toxicologists outside of North America to attend the Annual Meeting. Recipients will receive waived meeting registration, airfare to and from the meeting, meals per diem, one free CE course, and up to five nights of hotel accommodations.

To apply for a grant please submit:

  1. a letter (up to 500 words) demonstrating commitment to toxicology and vision for the field, if not a student or a letter (up to 500 words) describing career aspirations if a student;
  2. curriculum vitae;
  3. a letter of recommendation from the affiliated institution (which also certifies academic standing, if a student) as to why this nominee merits the award;
  4. submit an abstract online using the Annual Meeting abstract system and present a poster at the Annual Meeting summarizing the graduate project in the field of toxicology; and
  5. if a student, apply for ACT Student membership (Student membership is free, and it is not a requirement to be an ACT member at the time of application)
